If you are new to mountain biking, this is the best way to experience our park for the first time. During your Discover MTB lesson your instructor will guide you around the park and teach you the fundamental skills of mountain biking; leaving you feeling confident and comfortable as you explore the Tassie Wilderness. This lesson is ideal for families, and visitors who have not visited a gravity bike park before.

The perfect introduction to riding our park. Bike Park 101 will provide you with the fundamental skills to feel confident descending our gravity trails. Bike Park 101 is suitable for intermediate riders who are looking to transfer their current mountain bike skills to the gravity terrain that our bike park offers. Whether you are looking to start riding some of our jump trails, or hoping to tackle some of our steeper, more technical terrain, Bike Park 101 will have you feeling confident on our extensive trail network.

In a Learn to Fly session our coaches will take you through skills and drills to perfect your technique, and make sure you are jumping consistently, with confidence!

The Technical Progression sessions are designed to help strong intermediate riders move from surviving to thriving on black technical terrain. The Maydena Bike Park offers a unique learning opportunity with various levels of technical, steep terrain. Our instructors will take you through the correct braking, body position and other techniques to refine your skills.

JUNIOR JUMPING

Everyone loves jumping, especially kids! Get your groms in the air with Junior Jump lessons. These lessons are specially tailored for kids with a focus on fun and safety. Games and fun drills combined with riding the new free ride trails on the Lower Mountain will set kids up to progress their jumping skills.

This program will cover:
– Stability both on the take off and in the air
– Using good technique rather than just speed
– Identifying different styles of jumps
– Safely riding Freeride trails in groups
This program is for kids that can ride blue flow trails comfortably and looking to start jumping or kids that are already riding small to medium jumps and looking to safely progress to bigger jumps and boosting higher.
Riders will need to be comfortable on green and blue flow trails.

This program is designed for young beginner to intermediate riders ages 6-12. All riders must have some experience on undulating mountain bike trails and be confident using their brakes to control their speed. This lesson has the bonus of giving parents the freedom to ride and explore, while their kids are fully supervised by our qualified and experienced guides.

3 days of park laps led by a team of expert coaches, along with support from pro (Ryan Gilchrist & Elise Empey) and semi-pro riders. Maydena Gravity Camps are the ultimate multi-day camp for junior and young adult riders with intermediate to advanced ability. These camps are designed as a step up from our Maydena Mountain Kids Lessons and Kids Adventure camps, and will help young riders progress to the next level in a safe, supportive and fun environment.

What skill level is required for a Learn to Fly lesson?
Our Learn to Fly lesson is one of our more intermediate to advanced sessions. We recommend completing our Bike Park 101 lesson prior or having sufficient confidence with berms, rollers and bunny hopping at a minimum.
What skill level is required for a Technical Progression lesson?
Our Technical Progression lesson is one of our more intermediate to advanced sessions. We recommend completing our Bike Park 101 lesson prior or having sufficient confidence with berms, rollers and uneven terrain at a minimum.
